Many extended health care plans cover Osteopathy provided the Practitioner is a member of the OBC. Check with your plan for details.
At this time, direct billing is not an option. Blue Cross offers direct billing if you are covered with them. Other than that, you pay directly to me and a receipt is provided for you to submit to your insurance plan for reimbursement.
Please bring any medical imaging or x rays you may have or written results of any tests you have.
You do not need a referral from a physician. However, check with your health plan as they may require you to have one before reimbursing you for the treatment.
Each individual and issue is different, but in general the average person sees results somewhere between the 2nd and 4th treatment all depending on how acute or chronic the issue is.
On average expect to come once a week for 4 treatments. Some issues may need less time, while some more long standing issues may require a few more sessions spaced further apart as the body responds.
In general, Osteopathy is a gentle, non invasive form of treatment. But, at times, there may be tender areas with pain. Work is always done within tolerance and with a pain scale.
